Our spring and summer events calendar…
It’s just over two weeks until the clocks change and our summer hours return (you can find a reminder of them here), and here at Thimbleby we’ve been busy putting the finishing touches on our 2026 events calendar. We’ve worked hard to make sure there’s a good variety and something for everyone, from novices to experienced shots, and everyone in between! In this month’s blog we’re sharing the spring and summer events calendar and what you can expect from our events if you’ve never been before. So, without further ado, grab your diary and let’s get started!
March
Friday 13th March: Ladies Friday Morning Brunch
Join us at 9:30am for a safety briefing and teas and coffees before heading out in small groups for two hours of instruction on the shooting ground. If you’re new to clay pigeons, you’ll shoot 25 clays and cartridges, intermediate ladies will shoot 50, and they are included in your ticket price! Afterwards you’ll head back to the clubhouse to enjoy a tasty brunch and debrief with new friends/

Friday 27th of March: Cookery Demonstration
This March our Head Chef Tristan Prudden will be demonstrating how to cook spring lamb to create a delicious restaurant-worthy meal at home. Arrive at 5:00pm for welcome drinks, then Tristan’s demo will get underway before you sit and enjoy a meal and wine. Cookery demo ticket prices include a goody bag of lamb and a recipe card to replicate what you’ve learnt on the night.

April
Wednesday 1st of April: Summer Menu Arrives
Keep an eye out on social media for the launch of our new summer menu – and then plan a visit to the TSG café to try it out.
Thursday 2nd of April, Thursday 9th of April & Thursday 16th April: Young Guns
The Easter school holidays mean the return of our Young Guns sessions for kids and teenagers ages 9 to 16. Young Guns days kick off at 11:30am with a welcome and safety briefing, then two hours of shooting in small groups with our instructor team, before heading back to the clubhouse for a burger and drink.
£55 per person.

Saturday 11th of April: Introduction to Simulated Game Shooting (Ladies Only)
This event is the perfect introduction to simulated game shooting, with an hour and a half’s instruction on the ground followed by an hour putting your skills into practice on simulated game drives. The day includes all your equipment hire, safety kit, clays and cartridges as well as tea, coffee and cake in the clubhouse, and we’ll be announcing exact timings closer to the event.

Wednesday 15th of April: 50 Bird Competition
Join us for 50 clays across five stands and be in with a chance of winning prizes! The action kicks off at 1:00pm, you can book and pay on the day, and there will be food and drink from the café to fuel up before (or relax with after) your round.
Saturday 18th of April: Introduction to Simulated Game Shooting
The same format as earlier in the month but open to ladies and gents alike – instruction on the shooting ground, simulated game drives and tea, coffee and cake in the clubhouse.

May

Wednesday 13th of May: 50 Bird & Side by side Competition
Details as before but with a dedicated side by side competition alongside 50-bird sporting.
Thursday 28th of May: Young Guns
£55 per person.
Wednesday 20th of May: Demo Day!
Our demo days are great fun, totally free to attend and an excellent opportunity to try the latest kit from a range of manufacturers. There’s time to chat to brand reps and our staff, demo shotgun models on the shooting ground and we’re open late with café specials too.
Keep your eyes peeled for the full list of manufacturers who will be attending as well as some very special additions for 2026.
June
Monday 1st of June – High Summer Menu Launch
Keep your eyes peeled for a high summer menu refresh, just in time for the longest days of the year…

Wednesday 17th of June: 50 Bird Competition – with a twist!
Kicking off at 1:00pm, join us for a 50-bird sporting competition with a difference! There will be one pigeon side, a 410 stand, a driven game style stand, a rabbit stand and a sim game pair with one shot. Book and pay on the day…
July

Wednesday 15th July: Demo Day
Our second demo day of the year- remember these are free to attend with no booking required.

This time around our Tristan will be getting fully into the summer vibe with a BBQ cookery demo – perfect for anyone who loves grilling alfresco and impressing friends and neighbours. Arrive at 5:00pm for welcome drinks, then Tristan’s demo will get underway before you sit and enjoy a meal and wine. Cookery demo ticket prices include a goody bag of meat to take home and a recipe card to help you replicate what you’ve learnt on the night.

Join us from 1:00pm for competitive shooting in our grouse butts and on ‘driven game’ stands. More info coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled.
