Thimbleby Estate Announces Major Investment to Shooting Ground, Enhancing Visitor Experience.

Thimbleby Shooting Ground has announced a significant investment programme that will transform its facilities, reinforcing its position as one of the UK’s leading shooting destinations while enhancing the experience for members, visitors and corporate guests alike.

Work is set to begin on 10th August, marking the next major phase of development since the site’s expansion in 2021. The investment comes following sustained growth in membership and competitive shooting events over the past five years.

The redevelopment will introduce a substantially expanded Gunroom, an enlarged kitchen with a refreshed food offering, the creation of the purpose-built Thimbleby Shooting Academy (TSA) and improved facilities for staff, ensuring the business is well-equipped to meet growing demand for years to come.

Investing in the Future

The kitchen will also undergo a major expansion, allowing the team to produce an even greater selection of homemade dishes using produce sourced from the Thimbleby Estate. Alongside a refreshed menu, visitors will soon be able to enjoy the Shooting Ground’s popular breakfasts all day.

A key part of the investment is the introduction of the Thimbleby Shooting Academy (TSA), a dedicated training and education facility designed to support coaching and tuition. The purpose-built space will also provide a flexible venue for corporate hospitality and private group bookings.

The project also includes investment behind the scenes, with staff moving into newly renovated office accommodation featuring dedicated meeting rooms and improved welfare facilities. These enhancements will support the team in continuing to deliver the high standards of service that visitors have come to expect.

Remaining Open Throughout the Development

While visitors may notice temporary changes, including adjustments to the Gunroom layout, a reduced café menu and some external works, shooting lessons, competitions, retail services and clay shooting experiences will continue as normal.

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption while work is completed safely and efficiently.

A Commitment to the Future

This latest investment reflects Thimbleby’s ongoing commitment to delivering an exceptional shooting experience while supporting the continued growth of the estate.

By expanding its facilities and investing in both customer and staff experiences, Thimbleby Shooting Ground is ensuring it remains one of the UK’s premier destinations for clay shooting, coaching, retail and hospitality.

Quote: Luke Butler, Commercial Director

This investment represents an exciting new chapter for Thimbleby Shooting Ground. Over the past few years we’ve seen incredible growth in both our membership and the number of visitors choosing to shoot with us, so it’s important that our facilities continue to evolve alongside that demand.

The improvements we’re making aren’t just about expanding our buildings, they’re about enhancing every aspect of the customer experience, from the Gunroom and café through to coaching, corporate hospitality and the service our team delivers every day. By investing now, we’re ensuring Thimbleby remains at the forefront of the industry and continues to offer one of the finest shooting experiences in the UK for many years to come.”
